Taiwanese singer, Christine Fan was recently being accused for her diva behaviour while attending a show organised by Hunan TV.
Christine was rumoured to be unhappy about the programme arrangements, and got into a conflict with the show director. She reportedly refused to turn up for the rehearsal next day, and her segment had to be cancelled at the last minute.
Christine has dismissed the rumours and even broke down in tears while addressing the rumours. She stressed that it was a miscommunication and a misunderstanding between both parties.
She said, “I am a professional singer and cherish every opportunity. I regret that I am not able to perform on stage.”
Christine’s husband, Blackie Chen also defended her and said on Weibo, “I can use my life to guarantee that Christine is never big-headed! I know how much she cherish the chance to sing for everyone. Even if Christine suffers any injustice, she will never bad-mouth others. She always put others before herself. I am willing to use my life to prove this!”
After Christine and Blackie’s clarification, a working crew decided to expose the full picture of the incident. The working crew said that the rehearsal was indeed 30 minutes later than the original time. Christine refused to coordinate on the dance segment, and as the environment was not that conducive, she wanted to return to her hotel.
The source also said that Christine did ask if she could rehearse again, but as the programme was running very tight, there was no time for her to rehearse on the same day.
However, Christine did not turn up on the second day of rehearsal. Her manager requested to film the stage position and said that she would show the clip to Christine. Her manager also said, “The artiste did not sign any contract with Hunan TV, so she has the right not to turn up.”
Eventually, the organiser decided to cancel Christine’s segment.
Christine’s recording label, Linfair Records Ltd has declined to make further comment and said, “People who know Christine will know what kind of person she is.”
