Super Junior’s ex-member, Han Geng is the second Chinese star after Li Bing Bing to join Transformers 4!
On his Weibo, Han Geng wrote excitedly, “My childhood dream is finally coming true! Thank you Director Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures.”
The 29-year-old is a megastar in China and is dubbed the “King of popularity” in which he has 35 millions followers on his Weibo account. He is also well-known in South Korea, where he started his singing career as a member of the K-pop group, Super Junior.
Han Geng was recently starred in Vicki Zhao’s So Young, one of China’s blockbuster hit with box office raking in RMB 719 million.
Michael Bay has also confirmed the news on his website and described Han Geng as “one of Asia’s top stars” and “one of the most influential entertainers in China.”
Besides casting Han Geng and Li Bing Bing, Transformers 4 has also called for a talent search to cast four other characters, “Cute Lolita”, “Sexy Goddess”, “Tech-savvy Nerd” and “Action Hunk”.
Peter Ho and Jiro Wang are among the hopeful stars to join the fourth instalment. According to the online poll, Jiro has topped the chart for the “Action Hunk” role, and has been invited for a second round of audition.
