Hugo Wong has finally responded on his relationship with Hiromi Wada.

The 34-year-old TVB actor was seen on a date with Hiromi Wada recently, and the duo was suspected to be having an affair. Hiromi then shot a video and revealed that her marriage with her husband Jason Lam had ended and she was in the process of filing for divorce. There were also reports, saying that Hiromi was abused by her husband.

Shortly after, Hugo also dismissed their affair rumours, and said that they were only friends. However, a series of love text messages, suspected to be between Hiromi and Hugo surfaced a few days ago.

Recently, Hiromi’s husband Jason also uploaded a video and even said that they had not filed for divorce yet. He also angrily blasted Hugo, “If Mr Wong likes Hiromi, please own up.”

Hugo appeared at TVB City two days ago, but avoided responding on the issue. He said that he would upload a video on his Instagram to account the matter.

Yesterday, Hugo finally posted a clip on his Instagram and first apologised that he had caused worry for his recent rumours.

“I knew Hiromi six months ago at the company. After knowing her, I knew that she had separated from her husband due to domestic violence, and she was staying with a friend. At that time, she dared not talk to anyone about her plight. After understanding her situation, I want to protect her and support her.”

Hugo said that he would be willing to bear responsibility if TVB wished to take disciplinary action against him.

“I am willing to bear responsibility for any action against me. One should answer for what he does. I am also willing to accept any criticisms by the public.”

“I admit that I have made a mistake in this matter. I did not fully understand Hiromi’s relationship with her husband. Hiromi is a kind girl. I don’t want to see her living in her past shadow. I want her to lead a happy and stable life.”
