Hong Kong singer-actor, Leo Ku married his assistant Lorraine Chan in Las Vegas on July.
Yesterday, the couple held a wedding reception at the Four Seasons hotel in Hong Kong.
Many celebrities including Louis Koo, Sandra Ng, Moses Chan and Aimee Chan, Karen Mok, Joey Yung, Raymond Lam, Hacken Lee, etc. attended the reception. Leo’s groomsmen included Alec Su, Liu Xiang, Mark Lui, Dayo Wong and Carlo Ng.
Leo and his groomsmen met the press at about 4 pm, but the bride was nowhere to be seen. Leo said that his wife was very shy and was scared to speak in front of cameras, hence he had to order his groomsmen to meet the media together with him.
At the wedding, Leo sang a newly composed song, I and you <我與你> to his wife. He said lovingly to her, “She always asked me to wipe off the oil on my face before my concerts. There was once the concert venue was so dim, and she asked me to wipe off the oil. Please do not do such things tonight. You are my leading actress today.”
Leo also revealed on stage on why he had chosen to get married after 20 years of relationship.
“We have lived together for a long time, and did not think that a paper was necessary. We felt that it was enough for two persons to live together. A paper does not mean anything.”
After talking about it, Leo paused for a while and broke down in tears.
“Earlier, we went cycling with a group of friends. Some people cycled fast, and some cycled slowly. I was sticking closely to Mrs Ku, as she cycled quite badly. Suddenly, she met an accident, and the whole bike dashed forward. We were so scared, because she fell down and her head knocked onto the floor. Even her helmet cracked. It was so serious. I immediately sent her to a hospital to stitch up her wound. At that moment, I realised that I needed to cherish Lorraine well, so we decided to get married.”
Upon hearing Leo’s words, Lorraine also cried, and Leo joked that he needed to touch up her makeup on her face.
