Taiwanese rock band, Mayday (五月天) performed live at Google’s headquarters in San Francisco yesterday. The one-hour concert was streamed live on YouTube and over 50,000 fans tuned in to watch their amazing performance. To date, their concert has also achieved over 300,000 hits on YouTube!

Vocalist A-shin (阿信) greeted his worldwide fans during the concert, “Good night to everyone and also Good Morning, Good Afternoon, wherever you are.” Stone (石頭) greeted the fans in English, whereas Masa (瑪莎) greeted their fans in Taiwanese dialect.

Although there were only 300 Google employees present at the concert, Mayday hyped up the concert with their upbeat songs and the audiences danced and sang along with them.

Despite performing on a small stage, Mayday described it an amazing experience. A-shin said, “It’s been a while since we performed at a small venue, but we knew that there are many fans around the world watching us. I also can imagine that many Taiwanese people are now listening to our concert with their headphones at work. The feeling is just so marvellous, as compared to our previous concerts.”

Pop stars who have performed at the Google’s headquarters include Justin Bieber and Jason Mraz and Mayday is the first Chinese artist to stage a concert there. Mayday expressed that they would bring the glory of Chinese music around the world.

Mayday is also planning to hold their concerts in Paris, London, Amsterdam and Munich. Next year in February, Mayday will stage a bigger show at Los Angeles
