Singapore Mediacorp stars, Qi Yuwu and Joanne Peh are officially an item!
If you are a C.L.I.F. 2 <警徽天职II> fan, you may be familiar with the onscreen lovers in the crime thriller drama. In real life, the onscreen lovers have transformed into a couple. While taking an interview in the latest issue of 8 DAYS, Yuwu revealed his newfound romance with Caldecott Hill’s princess, and yes, much to everyone’s surprise.
The couple has known each other for ten years and has collaborated in seven Mediacorp dramas including Beautiful Connection <九层糕> and The Little Nyonya <小娘惹>. It was until their recent collaboration in C.L.I.F. 2 that sparks flew between the pair. The couple has been dating for two weeks and Yuwu expressed his feelings for Joanne after her separation with Bobby Tonelli.
When asked if he was afraid of a backlash for Joanne as she just ended her last relationship not long ago, Yuwu said, “That’s life. Don’t tell me you need to be alone for three to five years before it’s considered normal or okay to date again? Sometimes it just happens.”
As compared to Yuwu who is more reserved, Joanne is a more outgoing person. Responding on their differing personalities, Yuwu said, “My life will be balanced with a more active and energetic person around.”
Yuwu also revealed that he had met Joanne’s parents and he will be planning to introduce her to his parents when they arrive in Singapore in April.
Joanne shared that she was very surprised when Yuwu confessed his feelings for her while she was still coping with her failed romance. However, the 29-year-old Singaporean actress said that they did have chemistry together and she was not particularly shocked of his confession.
Joanne stressed that she did not jump into a new romance immediately after her breakup with Bobby. For the new relationship, she has struggled and considered it thoroughly. “To me, it’s not too soon, because I’ve thought it through,” she said.
This is the first ever romance which Yuwu has declared. Will they walk down the red carpet together in the coming Star Awards 2013?
