Following her lesbian love scandal, Sire Ma’s reputation and image has plunged to a rock bottom.
One of TVB’s heavily groomed artistes, Sire has been featured in many dramas this year such as Bullet Brain <神探高倫布>, Will Power <法外風雲> and the upcoming series of Rosy Business 3: No Reserve <巾幗梟雄之諜血長天>. In 2011, she also won the Most Improved Female Artiste at the 2011 TVB Anniversary Awards.
In August this year, Sire took a 2-month break from work and went on a trip with a Chinese wealthy businesswoman. Thereafter, there were rumours on her dating the Chinese businesswoman, Wang Ziqi. When the scandal surfaced, Sire shot down the report and said, “Time will prove what kind of person I am.”
After her denial, intimate photos and video clip of Sire and Wang kissing on the streets immediately surfaced. Many fans have expressed their disgust over her lesbian relationship and some blasted her for lying about her relationship with Wang.
It is understood that TVB has asked Sire to take a 2-month break after her scandal. Sire reportedly has been frozen by TVB and was even dropped off to attend yesterday’s TVB sales presentation.
TVB Senior Executive, Ms Virginia Lok has confirmed that Sire will be going on leave. She said, “I have spoken to her briefly. I will not be in Hong Kong later and will ask her out to discuss later. She will be resting for one to two months and will not be participating in any dramas at the moment.”
Asked if she questioned Sire on her sexual orientation, Ms Lok said, “There is no need to ask. It is very clear from the pictures. An artiste’s personal life will definitely affect her career.”
Responding if Sire will be filming in Wang’s invested movie, Ms Lok said, “We will have to discuss with Sire and the management first.”
