The cast of The Crossing <太平輪：亂世浮生> was in Taipei yesterday to promote the new film. Takeshi Kaneshiro, who had not made public appearance in Taiwan for three years became the attention.
At 41, Takeshi still looks charming and suave. About 600 fans, including his male fans were shrieking, “I love you” towards the star. Takeshi also politely responded to them, “Thank you.”
Takeshi said that the script of The Crossing was a very good one, and after reading it, he immediately wanted to be a part of the film. After watching the film, Takeshi said that he liked the love story of Huang Xiaoming and Song Hye-kyo.
“I envy their love. The general’s wife (played by Hye-kyo) was so brave. I am so envious and yet felt very sad after watching the film. Xiaoming really acted very well.”
At the press conference, Xiaoming also revealed that he was a fan of Takeshi. Xiaoming said, “I watched all his dramas, movies and even played his video game, Onimusha many times!”
Director John Woo also sang praises of Takeshi. “Takeshi is getting more and more charming. He will give his opinions about the plot and the line. He is very warm to others. Even if it was an extra, he would interact with him. I hope to film a comedy with him. I think that he has the gracefulness and the charm of an actor in the 60s and 70s.”
