Annie Yi and Qin Hao first opened up on their relationship at the Berlin Film Festival early this year.
Unfazed by the fact that her beau is 10 years younger than her, the 45-year-old Annie accepted the wedding proposal from Qin Hao in July. Recently, Annie also announced that they would tie the knot in February next year.
After she shared her wedding proposal, many questioned her motive for sharing it only two months later.
Annie clarified on her Weibo, and wrote, “Many people have asked why I chose to announce the wedding proposal in September since it was done in July. I did not have the intention to announce it initially. However, there were many reporters who knew I was preparing to conceive and asked if I was using pregnancy to force Mr Qin to marry me. I felt that this was an unfair statement to him. When I first met him, he already suggested to get married and even took me to meet his parents.”
Annie was rumoured to be on bad terms with her ex-husband, Harlem Yu’s mother. However, Annie revealed that she got along well with Qin Hao’s parents, and often travelled together with them.
“Aunty really treats me well. They are just like my own parents. When I had a tiff with Qin Hao, aunty will always scold him first.”
