Seen as an indicator to the TVB Anniversary Awards, the TVB Star Awards Malaysia 2013 (previously known as Astro TVB Awards) was held last night at Kuala Lumpur.
Hit series, Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> did not let down its fans and swept 10 awards, including My Favourite TVB Actor in a Leading Role, My Favourite TVB Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role, and My Favourite TVB Drama Series.
Chilam Cheung garnered a lot of screams and shrieks from the audience the minute he appeared. Besides winning the Top 15 My Favourite TVB Characters, Chilam also went on to win the TV King title of the night. Chilam was happy that his Captain Cool role was receiving so much love from the viewers.
He said, “Since everyone likes my playboy character, I will ask the producer to continue letting me act in such roles.”
“This award is entirely voted by the public. I am proud of you, because you have voted!”
Linda Chung won the TV Queen title for her Brother’s Keeper <巨輪> role. Could not believe that she won the most coveted prize of the night, Linda wept while she collected her trophy on stage.
When Wong Cho Lam teased her for crying the same as the prank variety programme, Linda said, “This time is real. It was strange when I entered into this industry. My mind is blank now because I never thought that many people will accept me. Thank you everyone!”
When asked later if he would be worried that winning this award could result in a loss of the TV King title at the coming TVB Anniversary Awards, Chilam replied, “Is it related? They are two different matters.”
Chilam also supported Linda to win the TV Queen title at the coming TVB Anniversary Awards.
