Chinese media confirms Kai Ko and Jaycee Chan’s drug arrest

Chinese media has confirmed that Kai Ko and Jaycee Chan were arrested on Tuesday night (12 August) and are detained by the Beijing police for investigation.

Latest report stated that Kai was being eyed by the Chinese police and had left evidence of his drug use when he forgot to flush after his toilet use.

Kai’s drug arrest rumour first started when a netizen claimed that the Taiwanese star was nabbed for drug abuse. Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee Chan was also said to be detained as well.

After the rumour was circulated, Kai’s manager said that Kai was uncontactable. Media was also not able to verify the rumour from Kai’s father, as his phone was switched off.

Jackie Chan’s manager also dismissed the rumour, and said that Jaycee was not involved in drugs. When asked if Jackie would clarify the rumour, his manager declined to respond.

Taiwanese writer-director, Giddens Ko was shocked when he saw the news. The You Are the Apple of My Eye (那些年,我們一起追的女孩) director who helps propel Kai’s career said, “It frightened me when I saw the news. I did not pick up any phone call from the media because I really did not know what was going on. I could not find Kai Ko and really did not know where he was. He just disappeared like that. I am in agony and the press kept reporting news that the company was not aware. I am really in distress! No matter what, I will pray for his safety and we will come forward to explain to the public.”

Kai’s ex-girlfriend, Elva Hsiao responded that she had not kept in touch with him for a long time.

It is understood that Kai’s manager has sent representatives to Beijing to understand the situation. They will also made an official statement this evening, at 8 pm.
