Christine Kuo has been struggling with her weight gain for more than a year. The TVB actress was said to have suffered from tremendous stress since she was rumoured as the third party of Aaron Kwok and Lynn Hung’s relationship.
Christine was later revealed to be suffering from hypothyroidism, a condition characterized by abnormally low thyroid hormone production. Due to the condition, Christine’s weight has dramatically shot up from 120 pounds (54 kg) to 170 pounds (77 kg) within six months.
Despite actively working out and taking medicine to control her weight, Christine is still unable to regain her slim figure.
During a promotion for TVB drama, Tiger Cubs 2 <飛虎2>, Christine revealed that she had started a 7-day liquid diet in an attempt to slim down.
“I hope to get into better health in the new year. I can’t take any food now, and I can only drink water. So, I can’t join the Tiger Cubs 2 finale dinner tomorrow. There will be so many good food there, and it will be cruel to people who are on diet.”
Christine said that she had started her liquid diet, and did not experience any adverse effects at the moment.
