At the death anniversary of Leslie Cheung (widely known as Gor Gor), his lover Daffy Tong declared his love to him for the first time.

Daffy reportedly sought solace in the United States on 1 April every year after the late Hong Kong star leapt from the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong ten years ago. As a tribute to Gor Gor, a 2-day memorial concert and “Miss You Much Leslie” exhibition was held in Hong Kong. Fans around the world flocked in to pay tribute to Gor Gor. Perhaps moved by the fans’ gesture, Daffy chose to spend the 1 April 2013 day with Gor Gor’s fans.

Daffy expresses his longing for Gor Gor

Yesterday, Daffy dedicated Gor Gor’s hit track, Where are you <你在何地> to him through a radio programme. DJ Vani, a friend of Gor Gor said, “Gor Gor, this program is dedicated to you. A person important to you have missed you so much. He is dedicating a song for you.”

Daffy expressed his feelings through the song, “The old shadow and an old voice, but the pain is new…..I love you so much. My mind is already with you.”

“On this night, I still can’t forget you. My lover, where are you?”

Besides this song, Daffy also dedicated Together, we move on <共同渡過> to Gor Gor’s loyal fans to thank them for their support all these years.

Daffy appeared on stage

At the last day of the memorial concert yesterday, Daffy attended wearing a Miss You Much Leslie printed T-shirt. He appeared on the stage with Gor Gor’s former manager, Florence Chan and bowed three times to the fans.

Florence said on the stage, “Gor Gor, today is your anniversary. Daffy is very brave to attend the exhibition on 30 March 2013 and the 2-night memorial concerts. You can enjoy your long vacation at ease now.”
