Celebrity couple, Hawick Lau and Yang Mi welcomed their first baby yesterday, after the 27-year-old Chinese actress gave birth to a 7-pound girl.
At 2.15 pm yesterday, Hawick shared the happy news on his Weibo, “We welcome our new family member! It has been exhausting for the mom! Both mother and daughter are safe and sound. We are thankful! Happy Children’s Day to all the children in the world and to my little glutinous rice!”
The couple has nicknamed their baby girl, “little glutinous rice” as she was born the eve of the Dumpling Festival.
Harwick’s father, Lau Dan who has just become a grandfather, was all smiles when facing the media at the hospital. He revealed that Yang Mi had chosen to give birth via caesarean section after suffering from bad labour pains.
The veteran actor said, “After the baby was out from the delivery room, my tears just flowed out. I can’t describe the feelings! Both Hawick and Yang Mi were moved to tears. Hawick said that he cried while cutting the baby’s umbilical cord, and witnessing the birth of a little life.”
Today, Yang Mi posted a little hand of her daughter on her Weibo, and wrote, “We welcome you, little glutinous rice!”
Hawick responded, “Just stick to your mum and dad forever!”
