During a recent interview, Hong Kong star Louis Koo shockingly revealed that he had suffered from amnesia since he was born.

The 42-year-old disclosed that his condition occurred as he did not have enough oxygen in his mother’s womb during her pregnancy. His memory deficit was made worse during a car accident in secondary school. This has caused him to suffer from temporary loss of memory and a temporary loss of vision.

Under long-term medication, Louis’ vision has improved, but his amnesia remains untreated. Louis cited that while filming Triple Tap <枪王之王> with Charlene Choi, he had told her that they collaborated two to three films before. However, Charlene corrected him that they had collaborated in nine films. Louis then realised how bad his amnesia was.

However, Louis chooses to face his memory deficit illness positively.

“The advantage is that I am able to delete everything away from my brain a few years later. The good thing is I am not that stressed when I am filming. On the contrary, I feel that this is a gift from heaven,” said Louis.

When asked to respond about his empty love life, Louis said, “Love is important but it needs time to manage. Why don’t I do one thing well at a time first? I am going to film four movies next. Even if I am in a relationship now, it will wrap up in a disaster.”
