According to Chinese media, Jaycee Chan threw a party at his luxurious apartment in Beijing on 14 August 2014, and invited several friends. Kai Ko, who happened to be in Beijing was also invited.
The Beijing police has confirmed that 100g of marijuana was found at Jaycee’s apartment which was a property of his father, Jackie Chan. Both Jaycee and Kai were tested positive for drugs consumption and admitted to smoking marijuana.
Kai will be detained for 14 days, but Jaycee, who is suspected of accommodating drug users may face a maximum of four years’ imprisonment.
A video footage of Kai’s interrogation and Jaycee’s arrest was exposed. In the video, Kai appeared to be nervous when told that his urine was tested positive for marijuana. When asked if he had further questions, Kai simply responded, “No.”
The video also showed a search process by the Beijing police at Jaycee’s residence. Jaycee was cooperative during the process and admitted that the searched drugs were marijuana during the interrogation. He also said that some of the drugs were given by his friends and they were more than 2 years.
Jackie Chan is expected to visit his son in the afternoon. Ironically, Jackie was made the anti-drug ambassador for China in 2009. He once said that if his son were to commit a crime, he would not hesitate to call the police and have him jailed.
Kai’s father arrived at the detection centre this morning. He apologised to the media for “not teaching his son well.”
