Myolie Wu’s contract with TVB will be ending in July.

After a year’s consideration of her next career move, Myolie reportedly is going to sign a 3-year contract with Stephen Shiu, Jr’s film production company, One Dollar Production Limited.

Rumours said that many agencies such as Huayi Brothers, Now TV, and ATN Talent had approached Myolie. However, Stephen Shiu, Jr has offered her a lucrative 3-year contract worth HKD 25 million, which also includes HKD 12.5 million of advance pay.

Myolie was also promised high quality movies and mainland dramas which would be tailored for her.

Myolie is currently filming a mainland drama, Adoption<領養> with Anita Yuen. She is said to earn RMB 250,000 per episode. Myolie is also going to appear as a guest star in a variety programme, which she is likely to earn RMB 6 million for 13 episodes!

Hence, it is rumoured that TVB’s low salary package is unable to retain Myolie.

When asked if she had plans to join Stephen Shiu, Jr, Myolie said, “Huh! My contact has not ended yet! I won’t respond at this stage!”

Stephen Shiu, Jr also declined to respond on the rumours.

Meanwhile, TVB’s senior executive Ms Virginia Lok said she did not believe in the rumours.

Please, the mainland market is full of promising and native actors/actresses already- if Charmaine couldn’t make it then I doubt that she can. It isn’t like TVB where any pretty pageant girls can get leading roles you know. At TVB she will be a leading lady for at least a few more years but not sure about that in mainland….
