Transformers 4 fever is definitely heating up in China.

Paramount Pictures has earlier announced that it will be partnering with China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprise to co-produce the fourth chapter of the Transformers movie. To tap on the huge Chinese market, Transformers 4 has already called for a Chinese Actor Talent Search to look for two actors and two actresses to cast in four roles.

Many were surprised when Peter Ho turned up to register for the audition. A netizen wrote, “A superstar also has come to audition.”

Peter’s manager said that fans had suggested Peter to try auditioning for the Hollywood film. An application was submitted without Peter’s knowledge and he only knew it after the submission.

The Taiwan-based American singer and actor who has filmed 17 movies and 36 TV dramas is clearly a hot favourite in the audition. In an online poll, Peter has already gathered more than 5,000 votes and is leading in popularity. He is very likely to enter into the final round of audition.

Asked about his thoughts on the audition, Peter said, “It is good if I can have a chance to act in a Hollywood film, but it doesn’t matter if I clinch the role or not. I hope Asians can have a meatier role in the film. I watched Iron 3, and I love Chinese actor Wang Xueqi. However, he only had a line in the film and it is such a pity.”

It is understood that a total of six Chinese actors will be cast in Transformers 4 and two will be well-known Chinese stars. Lee Bing Bing and Wu Xiubo reportedly will skip the audition role and will directly participate in the film. Earlier, Huang Xiaoming and Chen Kiu are also speculated to clinch a role in Transformers 4.
