Ruby Lin and Jimmy Lin fell in love in 1995 after working together in a teen drama, School Days <校園敢死隊>. As both had just started their career, the couple had to keep their romance underground back then.
After Ruby starred in Chiung Yao’s hit drama, Princess Pearl <還珠格格>, she gained immerse popularity, as compared to Jimmy who suffered a dip in his popularity after being discharged from his military service. The couple reportedly broke up due to Ruby’s busy schedule as she had to travel often to China for filming.
Apparently, this was not the real reason why the couple parted ways. Recently, Ruby revealed that Jimmy got jealous when she openly praised Alec Su at an interview.
Being a prideful man, Jimmy was upset with Ruby for singing praises of other man. Besides initiating a breakup, Jimmy reportedly also sent a fax massage, “I want to break up with you” to all the crew members, which caused embarrassment to Ruby.
Although Jimmy and Ruby have broken up, the ex-couple does not mind appearing on the same stage together during events. Ruby also keeps a good friendship with Alec and often meet up for meal.
