Taiwanese singer, Shino Lin (林曉培) suffered backlash after involving in a drink-driving accident and a dog mistreatment under the influence of alcohol.

In 2007, Shino’s car knocked down a woman and caused her death. In June this year, Shino was accused of abusing a 3-month-old French Bulldog after she allegedly pressed its nose, causing fluid to accumulate in the puppy’s lungs.

After news surfaced about her alcohol related misconduct, her performances and album recording was halted. In October, she further ran into financial troubles due to her ex-boyfriend. Facing great mental distress, Shino wrote on her Facebook, “Give me a reason to live!”

Shino trusted the wrong person

Accepting an interview by Apple Daily, Shino was so emotional that she had to stop the interview twice. With tears almost choking her words, Shino revealed that she had zero income for a month. She had also broken off with her boyfriend and at the same time, carried a debt burden of millions of dollars.

Without divulging the reason of her breakup with ex-boyfriend, Shino said coldly, “He made me realised that outdated singer could be make use as well.”

Shino also added, “I trusted the wrong person”.

Vows to turn over a new leaf

Responding to mistreatment on the puppy, Shino denied that she was drunk at that time. She said that she was using the method taught by a dog trainer to stop the puppy from nipping on humans. She was not aware that such method was inappropriate on short-snouted dogs like French Bulldog.

Asked if she would quit drinking, Shino replied, “I admit that I am weak. I dare not say ‘I have quit or I am not drinking anymore’, but I promised that no alcohol related news about me will surface again”.

Getting through the low times, she is currently depending on friends’ encouragement and her work to ride through the tough period. “I am not expecting others to see me in a different light. I am not a good person, neither am I a bad person. I will work hard to be a better person”.

Shino is now recording her new album. In the past, she used to dislike her voice and thought that it was too coarse, but she is starting to accept her unique voice now.
