Sunny Wang and Chinese actress, Zhang Li reportedly fell in love while filming Chinese reality dating programme, Perhaps Love <如果愛>.
In the show, Sunny and Zhang Li portrayed as lovers. The duo would constantly flirt on the programme and often interact on the Weibo. On Zhang Li’s birthday, Sunny even ‘professed’ his love for his onscreen lover in a cinema theatre and prepared a birthday gift for her, which left Zhang Li in tears.
As Zhang Li’s new movie, Breakup Buddies <心花路放> is airing soon, Sunny even left a note on his Weibo, saying that he had booked the whole theatre to watch the movie.
At an earlier interview, Zhang Li also revealed that her mother liked Sunny. “My mum complimented Sunny for his shy personality. I also can’t tell if I am actually dating or just recording a programme.”
Sunny also openly expressed his liking for his onscreen lover, “It’s comfortable to get along with Zhang Li. The more I understand her, the more I like her.”
Although the duo has withdrawn from the programme, their relationship has blossomed off-screen. The couple is said to have dated for six months.
Sunny and Zhang Li were travelling back together from Hong Kong to Taiwan to spend the mid-autumn festival together. The couple was seen at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, and Sunny was also spotted carrying Zhang Li’s luggage onto a car, before returning home together.
Through his manager, Sunny admitted that he had favourable feelings for Zhang Li, and said that he was playing host to her in Taiwan.
When asked if she would visit her future in-laws, Sunny said, “My parents are not in Taiwan.”
