Han So Hee shot to popularity after starring in South Korean hit drama, ‘The World of the Married’.

Recently, an anonymous netizen shared on an online forum that she was scammed by Han So Hee’s mother. In the post, the netizen said that from October 2015 to August 2016, she had scrimped and saved 2,450,000 won monthly to join in a kye. Members of a kye contribute a fixed amount monthly and takes turn to receive a lump sum.

However, when it was her turn to receive the lump sum in September 2016, Han So Hee’s mother went missing. It was only when she threatened to sue her, her mother contacted her and said she had spent all the money. Han So Hee’s mother also told the netizen that once her daughter become famous, she would return her money.

According to the netizen, Han So Hee’s mother only paid her a small sum, and now that it has passed 4 years, she still has not received her money back. She said that everytime she saw Han So Hee on television, she would be even angrier, and decided to expose her mother on the web.

After her mother’s debt scandal surfaced, Han So Hee finally responded with a long post. She said, “I would like to apologise to all the victims. No words can salvage the current situation. I would like to sincerely apologise to those who are unhappy or hurt through the incident. In hope that there will not be anymore victim, I am writing this with shame.”

Han So Hee mentioned in her post that her parents had divorced when she was 5, and she was raised up by her grandmother. She had no contact with her mother, and it was only when she was 20, she found out that her mother had chalked up the debts.

“Because she was the daughter of the woman who raised me, hence, out of moral obligation as a daughter, I have been repaying my mother’s debts since my debut. Unknowingly, she has chalked up so much debts under my name that I cannot handle it anymore.”

“Because of my immature judgement, I thought that helping her to repay debt was the only solution. I did not expect that more victims would surface because of my misjudgment.
