61-year-old Kenny Bee held a grand wedding recently with his long-time partner of 17 years, Fan Jiang.
Held at the Alila Villas Uluwatu hotel at Bali, many celebrities guests, such as Alam Tam, Jacky Cheung, Nick Cheung, Maggie Cheung, Eric Tsang, Show Luo and Elva Hsiao attended the wedding ceremony.
When it was such a happy occasion, tabloids claimed that many guests had to fork out their own money on accommodation and air ticket to attend Kenny’s wedding. It was also rumoured that some guests were unhappy that they had to fork out their expenses to fly to Bali.
Amidst the rumours, Kenny Bee announced that he would donate all the red packet money (customary monetary gift) to the ALS. He also wrote an apologetic letter to his wife for causing the embarrassment to her.
Kenny said in his Weibo, “I am sorry that you have to go through this. This is nothing for what we have been through. A fabricated report won’t be able to hurt us.”
“I will donate all the monetary gift we collected to the ALS. It’s not important to issue any ice bucket challenge. Just like whether our wedding is grand, or how big is our wedding ring, or how much the guests have paid, and what hotel they stayed. Will they be calculative or caused pressure to them”
“This world needs less resentment and more positive energy! This incident will only make us stronger and determined. Just like what is written on our wedding tea pot, “There is nothing too challenging for us. We will walk down the road till we grow old!”
