Aya Liu admits her husband is a reincarnated Rinpoche

Taiwanese host Aya Liu married and gave birth to her daughter last year. However, Aya’s husband remains a mystery as the 36-year-old has never released details about her husband.

Yesterday, Chinese netizens circulated that Aya’s husband, Tony is a “Living Buddha”. Netizens exposed that Aya’s husband is the 50-year-old Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche who took up comparative region at Columbia University. The 7th Dzogchen Ponlop, who is based in Seattle, has many followers who include Faye Wong and Tony Leung.

Aya has admitted that her husband is a reincarnated Rinpoche and not a Living Buddha. She also said that he had a previous marriage without any child.

On why she had concealed her husband’s identity, Aya said, “Because of his faith and because I am a celebrity. We both have unique backgrounds. I didn’t want public opinions to disrupt our peaceful lives.”

Aya said that she was often surprised by her husband’s hand-made cards to her and said he was very attentive towards their daughter.

“In the six months after our daughter is born, he has been changing her diapers and bathing her everyday. Sometimes, I feel that he has done too much, but he believes that since he is doing it, he should be giving his best.”

Aya also said, “”He is the best partner in my life.”
