With the TVB Anniversary Awards around the corner, the battle between the artists for the TV King and TV Queen is heating up too!
This year, the TV King and Queen will be publicly voted, making the race more exciting and highly unpredictable. Although the hot favourites for the TV Queen award are Tavia Yeung (楊怡) and Kate Tsui (徐子珊), it is likely that Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) may be the biggest contender to Kate, given her large pool of fans.
For the TV King award, there are news that dark horse, Kenneth Ma (馬國明) may be kicked aside to give way to Bosco Wong (黃宗澤).
TVB Stars to pull votes!
After the technical hiccup at the Miss Hong Kong pageant, the awards show producer Sandy Yu (余詠珊) reportedly will extend the voting time to two hours.
In addition, the top five nominated artists will be arranged on stage and the number of votes for each artist will be announced.
An insider revealed, “TVB will intentionally hype up the awards for the sake of publicity. This year, it will be exciting to let the viewers participate in the voting. There is plan to let the top five artists go up the stage and each artist’s votes will be announced individually. It will be very embarrassing for the artist if the votes differences are huge!”
The insider added, “Everyone is so tense up now and are urging all their fans to vote. They even ask their relatives and friends to participate in the voting too!”
Although Tavia and Kate are hot contenders for the TV Queen, Myolie reportedly will battle it out with Kate. Kate is earlier rumoured to be the cause of Myolie and Bosco breakup, and the showdown between Kate and Myolie for the TV Queen will hype up the award.
The insider said, ”There will be pressure. Besides Bosco, Myolie also realises that some fans have switched to Kate’s camp. She is already very unhappy about it. The pair already has tension between them. For personal or business matters, Myolie cannot afford to lose to Kate!”
Kenneth Ma kicked out from top five?
Kenneth’s doctor role in The Hippocratic Crush received positive response from the viewers and the drama also achieved very high ratings. However, the inside source revealed that TVB executive, Virginia Lok (乐易玲) has decided to put her favourite artist, Bosco into the top five.
The top four has already been decided on Raymond Lam (林峯), Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) and Moses Chan (陳豪) and Ms Lok reportedly will sacrifice Kenneth to groom Bosco into the top five.
Besides, Bosco’s Witness Insecurity has the highest rating this year, so he is very likely to be in the final five.
