Five-month into her pregnancy, 37-year-old Barbie Hsu appears to have bigger tummy and looks more like six months pregnant.
Taking about her bigger tummy, Barbie said, “I am an older mother, so I have a high amniotic fluid. The baby is heavier, so my tummy looks bigger.”
Her family has laughed at Barbie’s big tummy and joked that her baby wanted to live in a mansion, so would first try to get used to living in a big space. Dee Hsu also joked that Barbie’s baby is an active fat baby.
Wang Xiaofei has been shuttling between Beijing and Taipei, and tries to fly over to Taipei to visit his wife whenever he is free. Besides making fruit juice for Barbie, Xiaofei also cooks and prepares nutritious meals for her. Even when he is in China, he calls her everyday and checks on her.
Being a vegetarian for many years, Barbie has switched to eating meat to increase her chances of getting pregnant. After pregnant, she also follows her husband to eat spicy hotpot. However, Barbie’s mother feels that it is too oily, and forbids her from eating.
When asked if there is any plan for a second baby, Barbie’s mother said that they will discuss it after she gives birth.
