Although Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) and Bowie Lam (林保怡) have left TVB, the duo is said to be strong contenders for the 2012 TVB Anniversary Awards.
After Charmaine and Bowie left TVB, their drama When Heaven Burns was intentionally scheduled after the TVB anniversary last year. There are also rumours that the drama’s producer Jonathan Chik (戚其義) and scriptwriter Zhou Xuming (周旭明) are going to depart the TV station as well.
Will When Heaven Burns be cast aside from the 2012 TVB Anniversary Awards?
TVB Production Director, Sandy Yu (余咏珊) responded that When Heaven Burns will be nominated in the awards, despite the departure of Charmaine and Bowie.
“It (When Heaven Burns) is already nominated and we will not shelf it aside. We are very fair. Every artist will have a drama to be nominated. We do not wish to dilute the votes,” said Sandy.
The nomination list will be drawn out by a few hundred executives internally first. 10 actors, 10 actresses and 24 dramas will then be voted by the public. The nomination list will be announced on 19 December 2012.
