Over 200 artistes appeared at the 2015 TVB Sales Presentation two nights ago. Many TVB A-listers such as Wayne Lai, Charmaine Sheh, Roger Kwok, Myolie Wu, Moses Chan, Linda Chung, Kate Tsui, etc attended the event to promote their next year’s series to the advertisers.
Unlike last year, TVB did not print a drama catalogue or play any trailers at the event. Only footage of some dramas which have began filming were shown to the advertisers.
Charmaine, Moses, Wayne and Roger were clearly the darlings of TVB, and were placed at the prominent central position during the group photo. Myolie, whose contract would be expiring soon, was placed next to Roger.
There was earlier rumour saying that Myolie had plans to leave the TV station once her contract expires. Looks like TVB is trying to retain Myolie by giving her a prominent spot at the group photo. Kate was sacrificed, and placed at a corner of the front row.
Kate said that she was not unhappy with the placement arrangement. “My position was more or less the same as before. I have always been placed next to Kenneth Ma all these years.”
Asked about TVB’s favouritism towards Myolie, Kate said, “She entered into this line way before me. She is my senior. I hope she doesn’t leave and hope more artistes stay in the company. There’s still a while before my contract expires.”
Charmaine, who was dressed in an ancient costume was promoting her series, Empress Lü <呂后>. When being told that she was the favourite to win the Best Actress award at the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards, Charmaine said, “The nominations are not even announced yet. There are still many contenders such as Linda Chung, Louisa So and Kristal Tin.”
Responding on Myolie’s intention to leave TVB, Charmaine said, “Everyone will go through different phases. It’s important to be happy.”
